Multi-allocation

Split a single Jira work item between multiple contributors without creating additional Jira subtasks.

What is multi-allocation?

Jira work items typically have one primary assignee. However, some tasks require effort from multiple team members.

With Planyway's Multi-assign feature, you can distribute the planned effort of a single work item between several people.

Each allocated part appears separately on the Workload timeline and can have its own estimate.

Multi-assign a work item

  1. Open Workload view.

  2. Find the work item you want to distribute.

  3. Right-click the work item.

  4. Choose the team members who should contribute.

Planyway displays the allocated parts in the corresponding user lanes.

Estimate each person's contribution

Each allocated part can have its own estimated effort.

Each person's allocated effort contributes to their workload calculation.

How multi-allocation affects Jira

Multi-allocation allows you to plan contributions in Planyway while keeping the work associated with the same Jira issue.

It doesn't require creating separate Jira subtasks for each contributor.
