Track time directly in Jira issues

Log the time you spend on Jira work items without switching between Jira and Planyway.

Before you start

Make sure time tracking is enabled and configured in Jira. Planyway uses Jira's native time tracking functionality, so your logged hours are synchronized with Jira work logs.

If you can't log time, contact your Jira administrator to check your permissions.

Log time inside a Jira issue

  1. Open a Jira work item in Jira or Planyway.

  2. Find the Planyway time tracking fields in the issue dialog.

  3. Choose whether to log time manually or start a timer.

  4. Select the work item and enter the time details.

  5. Save the entry or stop the timer to record your work.

The logged time is saved as a Jira work log.

What information is recorded?

Each time entry is associated with a Jira work item and records the time spent on it.

You can also add a description explaining what you worked on.

For a broader overview of your logged hours, open the Time Tracking tab in Planyway.
