FAQ

Here are answers to the most frequently asked questions.

Does Planyway provide an API?

No, Planyway does not currently provide a public API.

However, if you need to use Planyway data in another system, you can access report data in JSON format through a generated link. This can be used to build an automated workflow that retrieves data from Planyway and sends or processes them in another application.

Can I import data from Excel or CSV into Planyway?

Planyway does not currently support direct Excel or CSV imports.

Since Planyway works with your Trello data, you can import the information into Trello first, and it will then become available in Planyway.

For a simple list of cards:

  1. Open your Excel or CSV file.

  2. Put the card names in a column.

  3. Copy the cells you want to import.

  4. Open the required Trello board and list.

  5. Click Add a card and paste the copied values.

  6. Trello will let you create a separate card for each row.

If you need to import more structured information, such as descriptions, dates, labels, members, or custom fields, you can use a third-party Trello import tool or the Trello API.

Once the cards are created in Trello, Planyway will automatically work with the imported Trello data.

How to find archived cards

If an archived card has dates, you can still view it in the calendar or timeline by enabling Archived cards in the View settings.

For cards without dates, open your Trello board and go to: Menu → Archived items → Search archive. From there, you can open or unarchive the card directly.

How to find time entries from archived cards

If Archived cards are enabled in the View settings, time entries from archived cards will still appear on the Time Tracking tab.

In the Reports tab, all time entries are displayed based on your selected period and chosen boards/members, regardless of View settings.

How to find missing cards

If some cards or checklist items seem to be missing, check the following:

  • Make sure no filters are active that could hide them.

  • Ensure that the View all boards option is enabled in the sidebar.

Note: You can find more information about connecting and configuring boards here.
