Workload report

Use the Workload Report to understand how your team's planned work compares to the time available to complete it.

What is the Workload Report?

The Workload Report provides a structured overview of scheduled work and available capacity.

It helps project managers and team leads understand whether current resource plans are realistic and identify overloaded or underutilized team members.

Report columns

The report includes three key values:

Scheduled work

The amount of work planned for a team member during the selected period, based on scheduled Jira work items.

Capacity

The number of working hours available to the team member over the same period.

Capacity reflects working schedules, holidays, and vacations.

Scheduled vs. Capacity

The percentage of available capacity that has been allocated to scheduled work.

Understand utilization

Utilization compares scheduled workload with available capacity. For example:

Use these values to interpret the resource plan:

  • Below 100% — The person may have capacity for additional work.

  • 100% — Scheduled effort matches the available working hours.

  • Above 100% — The person may be overloaded.

Identify resource problems

Use the report to answer questions such as:

  • Who has more work than their available capacity?

  • Which team members have room for additional tasks?

  • Is the current project plan realistic?

  • Should work be redistributed between people?
