If your Excel or CSV export is not working as expected, use the steps below to troubleshoot the issue.
If export gets wrong data
Use this section if the file downloads, but the data is missing, incomplete, empty, or different from what you expected.
✔ Check that there is data to export
Make sure the current view contains data, such as tasks, time entries, report results, or other items available for export.
If no data is displayed in the view, the exported file may be empty.
✔ Check active filters
Filters may hide the data you want to export. Try clearing the filters and exporting the file again.
✔ Make sure the right data is selected
Depending on the section you export from, such as Timeline, Calendar, or Reports, only the selected data may be included in the exported file.
Before exporting, check:
The selected date range.
The selected boards or projects.
The current view settings.
The data currently displayed on the screen.
✔ Check the amount of data
If the dataset is too large, the export may fail, take too long, or generate an incomplete or empty file.
Try reducing the amount of data by:
Selecting a shorter date range.
Exporting one board or project at a time.
Splitting the export into smaller parts.
✔ Check exports from Reports
If you are exporting data from Reports, make sure the report is displayed correctly before exporting.
Also check that:
The report has finished loading.
All required data is visible.
Filters are set correctly.
The selected date range contains data.
If needed, adjust the filters or date range and try exporting again.
If export does not start
Use this section if nothing happens when you click export, the download does not begin, or the export button does not respond.
✔ Try another browser
Sometimes export issues are caused by the browser or its settings.
Try opening Planyway in another browser, for example Chrome, and repeat the export.
✔ Disable browser extensions
Some browser extensions may block export or file downloads.
Try disabling extensions such as:
Ad blockers.
Privacy tools.
Script blockers.
Download managers.
After disabling extensions, reload Planyway and try exporting again.
✔ Clear browser cache and cookies
Cached data may sometimes affect how export works.
Clear your browser cache and cookies, then reload Planyway and try exporting the file again.

If export still does not work after these steps, contact support at support@planyway.com and include the following details:
Where you are exporting from, for example Timeline or Reports.
The export format you selected, Excel or CSV.
Whether the file is empty, contains wrong data, or export does not start.
Your browser name and version.
The selected date range.
Any active filters.
