Gantt Chart

The Gantt Chart gives you a visual way to plan and manage your Trello projects over time.

While Trello boards are great for managing work, the Gantt Chart helps you see the bigger picture — how tasks are scheduled, how they depend on each other, and how your projects fit together.

Open the Gantt Chart

To get started, open Planyway and select the Gantt tab.

Your scheduled Trello cards will be displayed on a timeline. Cards with start and due dates are placed according to their schedule, so you can see the duration and position of each task in the project.

Connect your Trello boards

You can build a Gantt Chart from one or several Trello boards.

To connect a board:

  1. Open the sidebar.

  2. Select the Trello boards you want to work with.

  3. Connect the required boards to your Planyway collection.

Organize your Gantt Chart by Boards

You can change how your work is displayed to match your planning process and group them by connected boards.

Schedule cards

There are several ways to schedule your Trello cards.

You can:

  • Set dates in the card editing dialogue.

  • Stretch the card to set and change its duration.

  • Add or edit dates directly in Trello.

Changes made in Planyway are synced with Trello, so your Trello cards stay up to date.

Manage dependencies

Use dependencies to show how your cards are connected.

For example, if one task needs to be completed before another can start, connect the two cards with a dependency.

Add milestones

Use milestones to highlight important dates in your project, such as:

  • product launches;

  • deadlines;

  • project phases;

  • important deliveries.

Milestones appear directly on the timeline and help your team keep track of key dates.

Change the timeline scale

Use the zoom controls to switch between different levels of detail.

You can zoom in for a more detailed daily or weekly plan, or zoom out to see your projects across months or longer periods.

Share your plan

Once your Gantt Chart is ready, you can share it with your team or stakeholders.

You can:

  • Share the view with other Planyway users.

  • Export your plan to PDF.

  • Adjust the view before sharing to show only the information your audience needs.
